Jub Jub Set to Return to Uyajola 9/9
Renowned presenter, Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye, has returned to “Uyajola 9/9” after a tense legal battle with the Moja Love channel.
The 42-year-old rapper is back and filming the next season of the popular series, an international publication announced on Saturday, 13 May. “Jub Jub returned as soon as filming started,” Bokani Moyo, head of Moja television Channel, told the publication.
Moyo went on to add that, “[He] never left. Uyajola was on a break and now that we have started filming, he is working again.” She clarified that a contract can be renewed based on “a number [of] factors determined by the channel’s management.”
However, this seemingly innocuous statement overlooks the recent lawsuit between the presenter and channel after news broke that they had terminated his contract in February this year.
Jub Jub was accused of verbally abusing his female business partner, Keabetswe Mokoena, which resulted in his termination from the popular show.
The presenter reportedly sued the production company for unfair dismissal in March, demanding damages which allegedly included his salary and last year’s bonuses amounting to R100-million.
While there’s no news on whether or not the amount was paid out, it seems that Jub Jubwas brought back on to the show by popular demand of its viewers.
